We’re looking for a mission-aligned, proactive fundraiser to help strengthen and grow our work in culturally-informed, movement-relevant research across the Global South. This is a high-trust, high-collaboration opportunity with a lot of ownership and a great fit for someone excited to shape fundraising strategy and infrastructure in a small but ambitious team.

What this role offers

  • Hands on experience

  • A team that, in @Megan Jamer’s words (our current fundraising advisor), is “ambitious but also likes to laugh a lot and very kind”

  • The right person will make a significant and real difference to the trajectory of Animetrics’ work

  • You will be a core team member and be included in strategic discussions and play important responsibilities

  • Insights into cutting-edge research

  • Insights into building the animal advocacy movement in the global south

  • Openness to your feedback and perspectives

  • Hands-on experience with all aspects of fundraising in a small organization (learning by doing)

  • A proactive, adaptive, high-responsibility environment

  • Genuine care and support for your growth and future in the movement

You might be a great fit for this role if

  • You have experience in nonprofit fundraising and/or you have been actively investing in building your knowledge and skills in nonprofit fundraising

  • Experience and context within the animal advocacy movement

  • Proactive and takes initiative

  • Would enjoy active collaboration with one or both co-founders (we promise we’re fun)

  • Comfortable working fully remotely across timezones

  • Assertive with sharing perspectives

  • Able to prioritize

  • Genuine excitement about Animetrics work

  • Alignment with Animetrics values and code of conduct

  • Happy to learn and work with Trello, Slack, and Google Workspace

  • Able to have 2-4 meetings per month

  • Occasionally able to work on tight turnaround times

  • Experience in or interest / self-learning with fundraising

Commitment and hours per week

  • Initial commitment of 10-15 hours per week for 6 months (Aug 2025 - Feb, 2026)

  • If there’s a great mutual fit, very open to extending and exploring possibility of seeking funding to compensate for the role

Responsibilities
Please note that we are interested in tailoring your focus and responsibilities so that they are a blend of your interests and skills as well as Animetrics’ needs.

Note on the role:
We’re initially looking for someone who can support both fundraising and light communications. That said,  fundraising is the current priority. If you feel excited about some but not all of the role (e.g. you’re a great fit for the fundraising parts but comms would stretch your bandwidth), we still encourage you to apply. If needed, we’ll do a second call later for a comms-focused role.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
