How Collaboration Works

1. Understand

We start by understanding your goals, key questions, context, and constraints.

2. Design

We design a practical research or support plan tailored to you needs.

3. Generate Insights

We conduct the research or provide support and analyze the results.

4. Support Implementation

We help translate findings intro strategy and support you in putting them into action.

Not sure where to start?

We provide free research, evaluation, and implementation support to help advocacy organizations strengthen their impact.

  • A lot of organizations struggle to turn research into concrete action. Findings can be interesting or useful to know, but it’s often unclear what they actually mean for campaigns, messaging, policy work, or strategic decisions. Research can also feel too technical or difficult to apply in practice — which is why a lot of valuable evidence ends up going unused.

We help organizations bridge that gap by translating research into practical advocacy strategy. This can include:

    • Identifying key takeaways from a study and what they mean in practice

    • Developing country-specific insights (e.g. how attitudes differ between Türkiye, Indonesia, or Egypt)

    • Creating advocacy briefs and stakeholder materials (e.g. campaign messaging guides, policy briefs, or presentations for corporate or religious stakeholders)

    • Supporting campaign and policy decisions (e.g. identifying promising outreach strategies, institutional targets, or welfare reform opportunities)

    • Tracking how evidence is used over time (e.g. whether findings influenced campaigns, coalition strategy, corporate engagement, or policy discussions)

Our goal is to make sure research does not just become another report, but something organizations can actively use to make stronger and more informed decisions for animals.

  • We collaborate with advocacy organizations, researchers, funders, and institutions on projects such as public opinion research, impact evaluation, policy analysis, survey design, experiments, case studies, and reports.

    This can include:

    • helping shape research questions

    • designing surveys or experiments

    • reviewing methodology and sampling plans

    • analyzing findings

    • interpreting results for advocacy strategy

    • or supporting implementation after the research is completed

We can contribute at any stage of a project — from early planning and proposal development to data collection, analysis, reporting, and practical application of findings.

  • We help make reports clearer, more accessible, and easier to use for advocates, funders, policymakers, and public audiences without losing the quality of the research.

  • Organizations often know what problem they want to address but are unsure how to turn that into a clear research plan. Questions like what methodology to use, how to frame research questions, what sample size is needed, or how to measure outcomes can quickly become overwhelming.

We support organizations with proposal development, research planning, methodology selection, refining research questions, and identifying realistic goals and expected outcomes. This can help organizations build stronger grant applications, partnerships, and research projects.

  • Understanding how different audiences think, respond, and make decisions is often essential for effective advocacy, policy engagement, and institutional change. And survey design can be difficult—bias, unclear questions, and poor sampling can make results unreliable.

We help organizations design surveys, experiments, and behavioral research to better understand public attitudes, stakeholder perspectives, consumer behavior, and advocacy messaging. We also support organizations in analyzing and interpreting existing research findings, identifying practical implications, and understanding how evidence can inform strategy and decision-making in specific cultural and institutional contexts.

  • Research involving the public, vulnerable communities, religious issues, or politically sensitive topics requires careful attention to ethics, consent, privacy, and respectful engagement.

We provide guidance on ethical research practices, responsible data use, informed consent, participant protection, and culturally sensitive research design to help organizations conduct research responsibly and credibly.

  • Organizations sometimes need specialized expertise related to economics, behavioral research, policy analysis, survey design, impact evaluation, translation, or regional contexts — but finding the right collaborators can be difficult.

We help organizations identify and connect with researchers, consultants, translators, technical experts, and external partners who may be a strong fit for their goals, budget, and context.

For example, we may help an organization:

    • identify a local survey partner,

    • find an expert their research,

    • evaluate whether a consultant is a good fit,

    • or determine whether a proposed methodology is practical and cost-effective for their needs.

  • It can be difficult to understand whether a campaign or intervention truly caused change, or whether outcomes would have happened anyway.

We help organizations design practical impact evaluation approaches to better understand effectiveness and improve future strategy. This may include:

    • evaluating campaigns,

    • measuring changes in attitudes or behavior,

    • identifying which interventions are most effective,

    • or understanding how resources can be used more strategically.

  • Many organizations want to use evidence more effectively but may not have internal training in research methods, evaluation, or data interpretation.

We run workshops, webinars, and trainings on topics such as:

    • survey design,

    • behavioral research,

    • impact evaluation,

    • interpreting evidence,

    • and evidence-based advocacy strategy.

These sessions are designed to help advocacy teams build practical skills they can directly apply in campaigns, policy work, organizational strategy, and decision-making.

How We Prioritize Support?

Because our capacity is limited, we prioritize projects that:

  • have strong potential for long-term impact

  • support advocacy in underrepresented regions

  • address important evidence or strategy gaps

  • can meaningfully strengthen decision-making and implementation

If you’re interested in collaborating on a project, exploring our capacity-building support, or simply connecting, we’d love to hear from you.
